What Is Prop 65?

California’s Proposition 65 requires warning labels on products that may expose users to over 800 substances, including certain chemicals, heavy metals, and even high-dose nutrients like vitamin A. This law is designed to keep Californians informed, not necessarily to indicate that a product is unsafe.

Why Does This Product Have a Prop 65 Warning?

Some of our supplements carry this label because their trace levels of lead exceed 0.5 mcg per daily dose, a limit far lower than most federal safety guidelines. This affects fewer than 15% of our products.

Even the highest lead content per serving in our supplements is lower than the amount commonly found in everyday foods—like vegetables and grains—due to naturally occurring environmental exposure.

🌿 Lead in the Environment

Despite using high-quality, pure ingredients, lead is widely present in soil and water, so it's often found in plant-based foods and supplements.

🚫 Is It Unsafe?

No. The warning is legally required by California, but:

  • The FDA’s safe daily lead intake limit is 75 mcg for adults,

  • That’s 150x higher than the Prop 65 limit of 0.5 mcg,

  • And the FDA’s actual health concern level is 750 mcg/day1,500x higher than the Prop 65 warning threshold.
