Thyroid Dosing Support Guide

πŸ‘‰ If you are not stable within 1–2 weeks, schedule a consult with the office.

πŸ˜– If You Feel Nauseous or Irritable After Taking Thyro Balance

  • Start with 1 capsule in the morning, on an empty stomach, 30 minutes before food.
  • About 5% of patients may feel nausea about 15 minutes after taking it on an empty stomach.
  • If this happens, try eating 10–15 minutes after taking Thyro Balance at your next dose.
  • If that doesn’t help, try taking Thyro Balance with food instead.
  • Still having issues? Cut the dose in half until you find the amount you tolerate well.

πŸ“ˆ If You Are Increasing Your Dose Therapeutically

  • Once your current dose is tolerated, add 1 additional dose per week, spaced evenly throughout the day.
  • Example: If you take 1 capsule in the morning during week 1, add 1 capsule at lunch (30 minutes before food) in week 2.
  • Continue increasing until you reach the dose listed in your protocol, as long as symptoms remain stable.

πŸ§ͺ When to Test Your Thyroid While on Thyro-Balance

  • Goal: We want to check your thyroid levels closer to their highest point, not their lowest.
  • If you take 1 dose in the morning: Take your dose, wait 30 minutes, then eat. Plan your blood draw for about 2–3 hours after your dose.
  • If you take 2 doses (morning and afternoon): Follow the same steps. Take your AM dose, wait 30 minutes (no food or other supplements), hydrate, and have your blood drawn 2–3 hours after taking Thyro-Balance. You can take your second dose in the PM, 30 minutes before lunch as scheduled.
  • Why this matters: Thyro-Balance can temporarily raise thyroid levels after dosing. Testing during this window helps us see how your thyroid support is working.
  • Timing note: This timing is more important if your support includes T3, which has a shorter half-life. If you are on T4-only medication, timing is usually less critical.

⚠️ Watch for Hyperthyroid-Type Symptoms

  • Heart palpitations
  • Anxiety
  • Excessive sweating
  • Irritability
  • Poor sleep

If any of these symptoms occur:

  • Go back to the previous dose (before symptoms started).
  • Symptoms often resolve quickly.
  • Schedule a consult with Dr. J if needed.

πŸŒ™ Bedtime Thyroid Support (If Recommended)

  • In some cases, Dr. J may suggest taking Thyro Balance before bed, especially for those with sleep challenges.
  • Ask Dr. J if this option is appropriate for your specific case.

🌑️ Temperature Monitoring

  • Track your thyroid temperatures throughout the day to monitor progress.
  • If dosing challenges persist, schedule a troubleshooting consult.
